Apple is reportedly shifting its focus from the M1 Pro Mac mini. The company is said to be working on the M2 and M2 Pro versions instead.
According to the Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple had initially intended to launch the M1 Pro Mac mini by the end of 2021 or at the beginning of 2022. However, production of the device “is now off the table,” claims Gurman. The company appears to have switched focus and is said to be working on the Mac mini powered by the M2 and M2 Pro chipsets.

As for the design, tipster Jon Prosser had said that Apple will give the upcoming Mac mini a complete makeover with a smaller chassis and a “plexiglass-like” top. However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo begged to differ, stating that the device will not see a design overhaul. Now, Gurman also echoes a similar sentiment, saying that the Mac mini will not get a major redesign in the near future.
