Canon Launches EOS R7 and EOS R10 Cameras With APS-C Imaging Sensors

Canon has launched the new EOS R7 and EOS R10 mirrorless cameras. These will be the company’s first EOS R-series models with APS-C imaging sensors. While the EOS R7 is targeted at hobbyists, the EOS R10 is geared towards content creators.

Both the EOS R7 and EOS R10 offer improved video functions and sport new accessories. The cameras feature a mirrorless system with powerful telephoto lenses. The APS-C sensor cameras have a crop factor of 1.6x.

The EOS R10 is equipped with a 4.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor, which is accompanied by a DIGIC X processor. The company says that these are the first Canon APS-C cameras with up to 7.0 stops Coordinated Image Stabilization. The R10 has an improved autofocus system and new modes such as focus stacking and panorama.

The EOS R10 has a 2.36M-dot OLED EVF on the rear. Additionally, the camera features a USB-C charging port with USB-PD charging, along with a micro HDMI port and microphone jack.

The EOS R7 has a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor coupled with a DIGIC X processor. Unlike the R10, the R7 features dust and moisture resistance as well as in-body image stabilization. It also sports dual memory card slots. Additionally, it is capable of recording full width 4K videos at 60p.

Besides, Canon also announced two new RF-S lenses for the new EOS R camera system—the RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM and RF-S18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM. While they’re best suited for the EOS R10 and EOS R7, they can also be paired with any R-series camera.

Canon EOS R7 And EOS R10 Price, Availability

The EOS R10 camera body is priced at $980. Paired with the RF-S18-45mm, it retails for $1099. And it costs $1379 with the RF-S18-150mm. The EOS R7 is a bit more expensive at $1499 for the camera body. It costs $1899 combined with the RF-S18-150mm.

The RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM can be purchased for $300. On the other hand, the RF-S18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM is priced at $479. The EOS R7, R10, and lenses will be available for purchase in the second half of 2022.
