MediaTek had announced the Dimensity 9000 high-end mobile processor last week. The company’s latest flagship processor will take on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. While launching the Dimensity 9000 processor last week, MediaTek had not revealed details as to when we will get to see new smartphones with its latest flagship processor. Now, a new report by MyDriver sheds some light as to when we can expect smartphones with the Dimensity 9000 processor to hit the market. According to a new report from MyDrivers, MediaTek Dimensity 9000-powered smartphones will first hit the market in February 2022.

Qualcomm announced its new chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, on November 30. The Xiaomi 12 will be the first smartphone to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, and it could launch in China in December 2021. The Chinese smartphone maker is also believed to soon launch the Redmi K50 in China. The Redmi K50 series device is believed to launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. Redmi K50 series devices are also expected to sport a 144Hz OLED display, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 64MP camera.
To recall the Dimensity 9000’s specifications, it is the first processor built on TSMC’s (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) 4nm process node. The chipset is based on ARM’s new V9 CPU architecture. It utilizes one ARM Cortex-X2 CPU core clocked at 3.05GHz, three ARM Cortex-A710 CPU cores clocked at 2.85GHz, and four ARM Cortex-A510 CPU cores clocked at 1.8GHz. For graphical performance and gaming, the chip uses the 10-core ARM Mali-710 GPU. The Dimensity 9000 SoC supports 180Hz refresh rate displays with Full HD+ resolution or QHD+ resolution displays with a 144Hz refresh rate.
The processor is also capable of handling three 32MP cameras simultaneously. It also has the ability to capture 4K HDR video from three camera sensors at the same time. The other features of the Dimensity 9000 include sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.3, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
