Google had recently rolled out its first iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets to Chrome and Drive. Now, the tech giant has finally released the update for Google Maps and Google Search apps. With the latest rollout, iOS Lock Screen widgets are now available for a total of six apps including Gmail, Google Maps, Google Drive, Google Search, Chrome, and Google News. Let us take a look at what the newly introduced iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets look like.

Once you install the update, the “Search” widget opens the app with your keyboard ready for input. The “Frequent Trips” widget now measures 2×1 in size and notes the location, ETA, and traffic conditions.

Do note that the “Frequent Trips” section helps users get directions and an estimated time of arrival for their frequent trips. Meanwhile, the Search widget on Google Maps allows them to look for nearby restaurants, gas stations, and more.

As for the Google Search app, it has a total of five widgets. The Search widget is available in two sizes: 1×1 and 2×1, whereas the rest of them measure 1×1. The last widget on the app is meant for Lens and is based on the most frequently used filter by users. Here’s what all the new Google Search app Lock Screen widgets do:
- Search: Access Google Search from your Lock Screen.
- Voice Search: Ask a question, hum a song, or search for content with your voice.
- Lens: Search with your camera or any image.
- Lens Shortcuts: Easily access your favorite Lens feature. Translate, shop, or solve homework with your camera.
After installing the update, make sure you launch each application before accessing the Lock Screen editor to add, or you might not see the apps.
