Google has unveiled the latest Pixel 6 smartphone at its Fall Launch event. While Apple decided to drag the iPhone’s stale design for another year, the Mountain View based company has given its flagship a complete makeover. For the Pixel 6, Google has gone for a subtle look with a dash of bold elements. The new phone comes with thin bezels, tiny punch-hole, and understated hues. Moving around the back, the camera bar adds character to the handset. Behind its velvety looks, the handset is tough enough to withstand water and dust owing to its IP68 rating. The changes aren’t just cosmetic, as the Pixel 6 comes with a serious specs upgrade.
Google Pixel 6 Specifications
The Pixel 6 is the first smartphone to be powered by Google’s Tensor processor. This 5 nm chip is designed by the search giant and manufactured by Samsung. Custom built for Pixel devices, the Tensor processor excels at machine learning. As per Google, the chip enables on-device Neural Machine Translation (NMT) that doesn’t require an Internet connection. The Pixel 6 has 8GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage options to choose from.
The phone’s 6.4-inch OLED screen has 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution. The panel is tuned for a 90Hz refresh rate and supports HDR content. The screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus.

The handset offers a dual-camera setup. The main 50MP camera is coupled with a 12MP wide lens with a 114-degree field of view. Taking advantage of Tensor processor’s machine learning capabilities, the Pixel 6 offers interesting camera features such as Magic Eraser that makes photobombing disappear with a single tap.
The camera can record 4K videos at up to 60 fps. It offers a Cinematic Pan mode, which relies heavily on the handset’s Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). For selfies, Google has gone with an 8MP camera.
The phone covers 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and GPS. The Pixel 6 holds a 4,614mAh battery with 30W fast charging tech. The handset also supports inductive charging.
Google claims that it is quite serious about security. The Pixel 6 features an onboard Titan M2 security module, which protects your data and password from alphabet agencies except for maybe Alphabet.
