A recent report claims that Google is getting ready to integrate Wear OS fitness monitoring, enhance smart home controls, and include the long-awaited audio pairing on the new Google TV builds. According to Protocol, Google executives reportedly gave partners a presentation last month that went through their extensive Google TV and Android TV ambitions behind closed doors.
An Improved Google TV
It appears that Google is working on a method to have interactive workouts on Google TV coupled with your Wear OS watch. Real-time data would display on a screen as a result of the link, with indicators like heart rate and calories burnt taking center stage. According to reports, this won’t arrive until at least 2023.
Google may eventually allow Nest speakers and Google TV to be connected together to form a home theatre setup. Since Google continued referencing it in promotional materials for Chromecast with Google TV, this capability has been long-rumoured. The report gives a vague timeline for this and we might see this functionality later this year or early next year.

Google intends to make Picture-in-Picture (PiP) capabilities available on Google TV with Android 13. With this, users will be able to access smart home controls and cameras without pausing the content they are watching. There is no set date for when this function will be available to consumers, but considering how difficult it will be to implement, we estimate that it will take at least a year before it becomes available on Google TV.
And finally, Google is pushing its hardware partners to offer Google TV and Android TV devices with a minimum of 16GB of storage. We might also see Google pushing for Android 13 as the default update on products shipping in the next couple of quarters.
