G.Skill, a Taiwanese gaming peripherals and performance memory manufacturer, has unveiled its latest Trident Z5 and Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 RAM modules. These are made using the latest high-performance DDR5 memory chips from Samsung. The company claims that the memory ICs used in its latest modules are high-quality and hand-screened by G.Skill, assuring outstanding gaming performance. The Trident Z5 kits will run at almost double the frequencies of the DDR4 RAMs and are rated for speeds from 5600MHz to 6400MHz, with latencies of CL36 or CL40.
The next-generation Intel Alder Lake desktop CPUs supporting the DDR5 memories will be out sometime in November, and G.Skill is ready with its kits.

For instance, the DDR4 RAM maxes out at 3200MHz, while the DDR5 RAM modules start at 4,800MHz, going up to 6,400MHz. DDR5 is also said to handle 128GB per DIMM slot.
G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 RAM Specs, Features
Coming to the G.Skill’s Trident Z5 DDR5 kits, these adorn hypercar like heat spreader design with a brushed aluminium strip and RGB lights at the top. The lights can be controlled via the supplied G.Skill Trident Z Lighting Control app or via any supported third-party motherboard software. G.Skill says it is working with all top motherboard manufacturers to refine the software required to control the RGB lights.
From the performance standpoint, these DDR5 RAM modules are built with an onboard PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit), which allows for granular control over power delivery to improve signal integrity at high frequencies. The top G.Skill DDR5-6400 comes with a latency of CL 36-36-36-76. The lower-rated DDR5-5600 and DDR5-6000 will also come with the same latency. These will be available for purchase in 32GB kits, consisting of 2 x 16GB memory sticks.
G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 RAM Price, Availability
G.Skill hasn’t announced its pricing for its Trident Z5 and Trident Z5 DDR5 RGB modules as of now. However, expect it to be higher than the DDR4 RAMs, due to the ongoing chip shortage, when it goes on sale in November 2021.
