Hero Electric, one of the key players in the electric scooter business in the country, just announced a new battery check and care initiative. The company will be running the initiative for the entire month of April, which it is hailing as the Battery Care month. During this period, Hero Electric is encouraging its customers to visit the company’s nearest dealership to get their EVs checked out for free.
This initiative comes at a time when the news is dominated by reports of EVs suddenly catching fire and burning, with the Ola S1 Pro being the most recent. On top of this, some EVs are exhibiting a host of problems which is further casting a shadow over the whole EV movement in India. According to Hero Electric, this initiative opens up the possibility for 4,50,000 customers to engage with the manufacturer through its 750+ dealerships in order to reinforce key aspects of battery care and safety.

The company further adds that specially trained technicians at the dealerships will demonstrate how to look out for any tell-tale signs in a battery that, in a rare event, may malfunction in the future.
