Extended Warranty is the best plan you can opt for. This covers all the hardware defects that arise after the warranty period. The HP extended warranty plan can either be purchased with the laptop or anytime within a year of buying the HP laptop. The plan is available for a maximum of 3 years, after the expiry of the original warranty period. If you’re using a mid-segment HP laptop within Rs 20,000, you have the option of buying the 1 Year HP Extended Warranty plan for Rs 1,467 or the 3 years HP Extended Warranty plan for Rs 5,744 (Prices vary depending on the price of the laptop). This laptop warranty plan starts as soon as the manufacturer’s warranty period expires.
Apart from Extended Warranty, HP also offers the 1 Year Accidental Damage Protection plan. This plan gives you the peace of mind to know that your investment is protected from the hassles of unexpected repairs and expenses. It covers all the structural damage caused to your laptop by accidental drops, spills, electrical surges or failure of the screen. The HP 1 Year Accidental Damage Protection plan needs to be purchased anytime within a year of buying the laptop and costs Rs 2,287 for laptops within the Rs 20,000 range. HP offers at-home service called the Onsite Warranty when your laptop needs repair during the plan period. You just need to raise a service request and HP sends a professional technician home from the HP service center to repair the laptop. The at-home service is inclusive of the plan price.
HP also gives you service assurance and offers cashless service for both the plans. So you just need to pay once, at the time of buying the plan. But in case, any part of the laptop needs to be replaced and if it exceeds the cost of the device, you will need to spend from your pocket.
