Working from home is the new normal now and adding to the misery is the inflated prices of laptops in the market. We have seen the prices go up by a massive 20-30 percent in 2021, mainly due to the ongoing global chip shortage (To know more about it click here). Infinix, a Chinese smartphone maker, is now launching affordable laptops for working professionals and students in the country. The Infinix INBook X1 and X1 Pro will be company’s the first range of laptops in India.
The Infinix INBook X1 laptops will be powered by Intel’s 10th Generation Core i3 and Core i5 whereas the flagship INBook X1 Pro variant will incorporate Intel’s 10th Generation Core i7 processor. These laptops come in two youthful Aurora Green, Noble Red and a classic type Starfall Grey colour options. All three laptops run the Windows 11 Home version out of the box.
Infinix INBook X1, INBook X1 Pro Features, Specifications
If you are a sucker for a premium look and feel, the Infinix INBook X1 series won’t disappoint as it comes with an all-metal body construction with an aluminium dual finished top lid. These are very slim with a thickness of 16.3mm and weigh just 1.48 kg. Like working in low-lit conditions? The laptops come with backlit keyboards with three-level adjustments for intensity.
Often at this price point manufacturers opt for dreadful TN (Twisted Nematic) or VA (Vertical Alignment) type of LCDs with horrendous picture quality and viewing angles (to learn more in detail about the types of displays click here). Thankfully, Infinix opted for 14-inch FullHD IPS panels with 100 percent sRGB coverage and 300 nits peak brightness across the range. The display is tiltable up to 180 degrees and would provide good viewing angles as well.
The Infinix INBook X1 Core i3 variant comes with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB PCI-E 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD storage. The Core i5 variant is equipped with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB PCI-E 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD storage. The Infinix INBook X1 Pro Core i7 top of the line variant comes with a whopping 16 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB PCI-E 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD storage. It comes with Intel Iris Plus graphics as opposed to the Intel UHD graphics of the vanilla INBook X1 variants.
The laptops come with two speakers and two tweeter setups along with DTS audio processing. All notebooks get a 720P camera for video calls and a privacy camera switch to save yourself from stalkers, like Joe Goldberg from the Netflix series ‘You’. The Core i7 variant also disables the two microphones on-board when you use this privacy switch. The Core i7 variant also gets added biometrics in the form of a fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity features include two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one 3.5mm audio jack, one HDMI 1.4, Bluetooth 5.1, and a microSD card slot. The INBook X1 Core i3 and Core i5 variants come with Wi-Fi 5 support whereas the INBook X1 Pro Core i7 variant gets Wi-Fi 6 support.
All three laptops come with a 55Whr under the hood, which promises to keep the laptop running for up to 13 hours straight. These come bundled with a USB Type-C 65-watt fast charger that promises to juice it up to 70 percent in just 55 minutes. Since the charger supports USB 3.0 Power Delivery (you can learn more about it here), it can also be used to charge your latest smartphones.
