Apple has released iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1. These new software updates come a month after Apple released iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 with new Sports features and bug fixes. The newly released iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 updates include bug fixes, performance improvements, and bring fixes for two security vulnerabilities.

Similarly, users can update their iPad to iPadOS 15.6.1 by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Apple states, “This update provides important security updates and is recommended for all users.”
When it comes to changes, iOS 15.6.1 has fixed two major vulnerabilities that were exploited. The first vulnerability could have allowed an application to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Meanwhile, the second was a WebKit vulnerability which could have allowed “processing maliciously crafted web content leading to arbitrary code execution.” Here is the full changelog of the new release:

Available for: iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation)
