The upcoming Apple iPhone 14 series was reported to debut in September. A new report suggests that its launch could be delayed due to the growing political tension between China and Taiwan.
The iPhone 14 launch issue appears to have been caused by the arrival of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, in Taiwan. The visit is reported to have caused a deeper rift in the China-Taiwan relationship.

Furthermore, Pelosi was seen with Pegatron Vice Chairman Jason Chen as well as executives from TSMC. The US seems to be caught in what appears to be a trade war between China and Taiwan.

China has chalked up new rules for devices manufactured in Taiwan. The iPhone maker is said to have requested its Taiwanese suppliers to comply with China’s new directives which forbid the labelling of products as “Made in Taiwan” or “Republic of China.” This means the products that do not adhere to the new rules will be sent back to Taiwan, in turn, delaying the iPhone 14 production.
Meanwhile, shipments from Taiwan to the Pegatron factory in Suzhou, China have already been prohibited by China. The Pegatron factory manufactures products for companies such as Microsoft and Tesla. With the iPhone 14 production reported to have issues with the displays and the camera lenses, China’s backlash comes as a major setback for Apple.
