iQOO is gearing up to launch the iQOO 9 series handsets in China. The iQOO 9 series is said to consist of two models—the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro. Both these devices are expected to launch in China next month, that is, in January 2022. Ahead of the launch, leaks and rumours surrounding the upcoming iQOO 9 series devices have started popping up on the internet. In the latest development, famous tipster and Weibo user, Bald Panda has leaked the battery and charging capabilities of iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro.
The tipster reveals that the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro both will feature a 4,700mAh battery unit, about 10% more compared to their predecessors. To those unaware, the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro feature 4,350mAh and 4,500mAh battery units respectively. The tipster further goes on to reveal that both these upcoming iQOO flagship handsets will feature 120W fast charging support, but that’s not surprising considering the feature made its debut with the iQOO 8 series devices a few months back.
iQOO 9 Series: Expected Specifications
The iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro are expected to come with an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is also expected to house the optical in-display fingerprint scanner. The iQOO 9 series devices are also rumoured to be equipped with a dual speaker setup, and dual linear motor. Both these devices will feature a second-generation display chip for an enhanced visual experience. The upcoming iQOO devices will also feature a dual pressure-sensitive shoulder button.
The iQOO 9 Pro, as well as the vanilla iQOO 9, are expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is built on Samsung’s 4nm fabrication process and comes with X2 prime core. To take care of the heating, the brand might equip the iQOO 9 series devices with an enhanced heat dissipation system.
