The fastest electric vehicle charger in India has been installed by Kia in Gurugram, Haryana. The charger has been installed at Dhingra Kia, the city’s authorised Kia dealership. By August 2022, the company aims to have installed a total of 15 fast chargers in 12 Indian cities. The Kia EV6 will be able to charge from 0 to 80 percent in just 42 minutes with the help of these chargers, including the one that has already been installed.
The South Korean automaker announced its very first EV, the EV6 for the Indian market just last month. The Kia EV6 made for India has a 77.4 kWh battery pack and is advertised as having a driving range of more than 500 kilometers on a single charge. It comes in two variations—a 225 bhp single-motor with RWD and a 320 bhp dual-motor with AWD drivetrain. Prices for the Kia EV6 range from ₹59.95 lakhs to ₹64.95 lakhs, ex-showroom.

To take things further, we’re now incredibly excited to inaugurate the first DC fast charger for passenger vehicles with a 150 kW charging capacity, playing our role in India’s EV growth story.”
He further added, “At Kia India, it is our constant endeavour to provide a superior customer experience and we believe that such fast-charging solutions will take away issues of range anxiety and charging time that EV owners face. We shall be installing a total of 15 such chargers across 12 cities by August 2022, and are hopeful that such small steps will go a long way in fostering EV adoption in the country.”
