The ThinkPad X13s, as the name suggests, packs a 13.3-inch panel which is available with both touch and non-touch LCD options. The laptop is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 Mobile Compute platform and gets up to 32GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 1TB of storage. It also runs the latest Windows 11 Pro out of the box.
At the launch, Lenovo said it worked together with Microsoft, Qualcomm, and third-party app developers to ensure the X13s supports a wider range of applications. Qualcomm has also worked hard on the new chip, and the chipmaker claims that these 8cx Gen 3 Mobile chips run cool, are power-efficient, and yet pack a punch. The ThinkPad X13s gets a 49.5Wh battery, which isn’t that large by any standard but is supposedly able to deliver 28 hours of use thanks to the new power-efficient chip.
Another area where the new ThinkPad excels is connectivity, and it offers always-connected 5G and 4G options. This includes both sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G for high-speed internet connectivity and Wi-Fi 6 and 6E for local connectivity. Apart from this, there is a pair of 5MP cameras up front that comes with Windows Hello support, a multi-speaker Dolby sound system, and a three-far-field mic setup for taking calls. The brand appears to have cut corners when it comes to ports, as the X13s only gets two USB Type-C options, with one of them being a 3.2 Gen 2 option. Along with this, there is a 3.5mm audio jack and a Kensington lock.
According to Lenovo, the ThinkPad X13s will be available from May with a starting price of $1,099 primarily in the US, followed by a limited release in select markets later in the year.
