Microsoft will be offering a closer look at all the games arriving on Xbox, PC, and cloud at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase scheduled for June 12. Before the event, the company shared that it will be rolling out exciting new gaming features for Windows 11 and the Edge browser.

It promises to improve latency, which will reduce input lag. Moreover, it will also add features such as Auto HDR and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) to enhance gameplay.

Additionally, Windows 11 will gain a new HDR calibration app. It is touted to improve the color accuracy and consistency of your HDR displays. Another new addition is the Game Pass Widget, which will help gamers browse games via Game Pass and navigate to recent titles with ease.
Windows will also introduce a new Controller Bar which lets you preview the Xbox Game bar. It will also allow you to access game shortcuts for recent games as well as launchers. For instance, pressing down on the Xbox button will launch the Xbox Game Bar and gaming widgets. The last three titles that you played on your PC will appear on the controller bar.
Gaming Features For Microsoft Edge
Microsoft is set to gain a customizable gaming home page that comprises game-related content such as game guides, highlights, live streams, tournaments, new and upcoming titles, etc. The browser also gets a feature called Built-in Clarity Boost to improve the appearance of cloud games.
Microsoft is introducing a new Games menu for Edge, which includes shortcuts for free games such as Microsoft Solitaire, Microsoft Jewel, Atari Asteroids, and more. Browsers such as Chrome and Edge are notorious for hogging precious CPU resources. To combat this, Windows 10 and Windows 11 will get “Efficiency mode”, which will automatically cut down on Edge’s resource consumption when a game is launched. This should ensure that the game runs smoothly.
