Microsoft Surface Go 2, Surface Book 3 Laptops Launched in India: Price, Specs

Microsoft has launched two new laptops—Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3—in India. These laptops were originally unveiled in the US six months ago. The Surface Go 2 is an entry-level 2-in-1 hybrid laptop with a 10.5-inch screen and an Intel Pentium Gold or an 8th Gen. Intel Core M3 processor. The Surface Book 3 is a high-end laptop with 10th Gen. Intel Core i5 and i7 processor variants and comes in two screen size options: 13-inch and 15-inch. Let us have a look at their specifications and Indian pricing.

Microsoft Surface Go 2, Surface Book 3 Price in India

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 price in India is ₹47,599 for the entry-level variant and goes as high as ₹63,499 for the highest-end variant. The laptop comes in four variants, and they are available through Amazon, official resellers, and authorized retailers in India. Here are the configuration and pricing of all of them:

The Microsoft Surface Book 3 price in India starts at ₹1,56,299 for the entry-level variant and goes up to a whopping ₹3,40,399 for the fully-decked-up version. Microsoft Surface Go 2 Specifications

The Surface Go 2 features a 10.5-inch PixelDense IPS LCD display with 10-point multitouch, Full HD resolution (1,920×1,280 pixels), and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium and a dual-microphone setup. It runs Windows 10 Home S for consumer variants, while commercial versions of the laptop run Windows 10 Pro.

It features the Intel Pentium Gold processor (4425Y), 4GB RAM, and 64GB eMMC storage in the base variant, while the higher-end variant uses the 8th Gen. Intel Core M3 processor. The laptop is available with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD. The laptop has a 5MP front-facing camera with 1080p video calling and recording support. The 8MP rear-facing camera has autofocus and can record 1080p videos as well.

The Surface Go 2 has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, one USB Type-C port, one Surface Connector, one Surface Type Cover port, a microSDXC card slot, a 3.5mm headphone/mic combo port, and a 24W charging port.

Keep in mind that the Surface Go 2 doesn’t come with a keyboard and trackpad, so you’ll have to use it with a wired or wireless keyboard and mouse or get the Surface Go Type Cover from Microsoft, which costs a whopping ₹9,699. It is also compatible with the Surface Pen, which is sold separately for ₹10,275.

Microsoft Surface Book 3 Specifications

The Surface Book 3, which is a high-end 2-in-1 laptop from Microsoft, comes in two screen size variants: 13.5-inch and 15-inch. The 13.5-inch version features a PixelDense IPS LCD display with 3,000×2,000 pixels resolution and touchscreen. The 15-inch version features a 3,240×2,160 PixelDense IPS LCD display with a touchscreen. The laptop features front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos audio and dual-far-field microphones.

It runs Windows 10 Pro (Indian variants), and the entry-level variant with a 13.5-inch screen is equipped with the 10th Gen. Intel Core i5 processor (1035G7) with Intel Iris Plus Graphics, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD storage. It is also available with 16GB/32GB RAM, 512GB/1TB SSD, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM.

The 15-inch version of the laptop starts with a 10th Gen. Intel Core i7 processor (1065G7), 16GB RAM, 256GB storage, and NVIDIA GeForce 1660 Ti graphics card with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM. However, it is also available with 32GB RAM, 512GB/1TB SSD, and NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 GPU.

Other features of the Microsoft Surface Book 3 include a hardware-based TPM 2.0 chip, 8MP rear-facing camera with autofocus and 1080p video recording, 5MP front-facing camera with 1080p video recording, a full-sized backlit keyboard, and a glass trackpad with Windows Precision drivers and multi-touch gestures. Surface Book 3 is also compatible with the Surface Pen, but it is sold separately.

The Surface Book 3 has dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, Xbox Wireless built-in, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port. It also features an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, and gyro. The 13.5-inch Surface Book 3 comes with a claimed battery life of up to 15.5 hours, while the 15-inch version can go as high as 17.5 hours if Microsoft’s numbers are to be believed.
