Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 With 12th Gen Intel Processor Launched: Price, Specifications

Alongside the Surface Pro 9 and Surface Studio 2+, Microsoft launched the Surface Laptop 5 yesterday. The newly launched Surface Laptop 5 brings minor upgrades to the table and comes in new colourways. Microsoft has packed this new device with the 12th Gen U-series processor and it comes in 13.3-inch and 15-inch screen sizes. The past generation of the Surface models came with both Intel and AMD CPU configurations. However, this time there isn’t any AMD model as rumoured earlier. Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 Pricing, Availability

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13.5-inch model price starts at $1,000 (roughly ₹82,300), while the 15-inch version costs $1,300 (roughly ₹1,06,900). The Surface Laptop 5 15-inch model comes in Platinum and Matte Black colour options, while the 13.5-inch variant comes in Platinum, Sage, Matte Black, and Sandstone colours. Both these laptop models will be available for purchase starting October 25, 2022.

As mentioned above, the newly launched Surface Laptop 5 comes with a 13.5-inch or a 15-inch display. The former model has a 2256×1504 pixel resolution, while the 15-inch variant offers a 2496×1664 pixel resolution. Both the models have a 60Hz refresh rate and the screen is compatible with the Surface Pen. 

The base versions of both laptop models pack 256GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. The 13.5-inch version model ships with 512GB of internal storage and 16GB of RAM, while the 15-inch model goes all the way up to 1TB of storage and 32GB of RAM.

As for the hardware, the Surface Laptop 5’s 13.5-inch model can be configured with either a 12th Gen Core i5-1235U or a Core i7-1255U CPU, while the 15-inch model only comes with a Core i7 CPU. For connectivity, the Surface Laptop 5 has a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port, a proprietary Surface Connect port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB 3.1 Type-A port. Lastly, the device also has a 720p webcam for video calling.
