Motorola recently postponed its Moto X30 Pro and Moto Razr 2022 launch in China (probably) due to political tensions with Taiwan. But now, there are reports that it may introduce a mid-range device, Motorola Edge 30 Neo, along with its flagship smartphones, which were postponed. A Geekbench listing confirms the Motorola Edge 30 Neo moniker and also reveals its CPU configuration and memory capacity.
Going by the listing, it would safe to assume that the upcoming Motorola Edge 30 Neo could be powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset as the listing reveals that it comes with two cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The Snapdragon 695 is a 5G capable processor and is also found in the devices such as OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, Realme 9 Pro 5G, Vivo T1 5G, and likes. The device on the benchmarking website was equipped with 8GB RAM, but there could be 4GB and 6GB RAM options when it goes on sale. In all probability, it will be a DDR4x type RAM considering the price segment the device would be targeting.
The Geekbench listing of the Motorola Edge 30 Neo reveals the codename of the device, “Miami”, which it shares with the Moto Edge 30 Lite. This implies that both devices are identical and may launch in different regions. Motorola is known for such naming strategies. Often the Chinese nomenclatures differ from that of the global products. Thanks to a previous leak, we have the specifications of this device.
Motorola Edge 30 Neo: Specifications (Expected)
The Motorola Edge 30 Neo will be a very slim smartphone with a thickness under 7mm. It will sport a 6.28-inch pOLED with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset. It will be equipped with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
