Motorola has started rolling out stable Android 12 updates to its mid-range and flagship smartphones. The brand recently updated the Moto Edge 20 Pro, Moto G50, and Moto G200 devices to the latest Android version. And now, the Android 12 update is finally making its way to the Motorola Edge (2021) and Motorola Edge+ devices. Notably, the brand still has nearly 20 phones lined up to update to the new OS.
The update is currently rolling out in the United Stated and will be available in other regions soon. To check if the update is available on your phone, go to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates.
Motorola Edge (2021) Android 12 Update
The stable Android 12 update is making its way to the Motorola Edge (2021). The new firmware version S1RM32.48-18-11 is meant for devices with XT21411-2-SS serial number and will update it to the stable version of Android 12. The latest update brings the following features:
- Material You UI
- Approximate location permissions
- Improved widgets
- Mic and camera locks
- A revamped privacy dashboard
- Improved Android Game Mode
Besides, the Android 12 update for the Motorola Edge (2021) comes with a March 2022 security patch.

Motorola Edge+ Android 12 Update
Motorola has also started rolling out the stable Android 12 update to the Motorola Edge+ that was launched back in 2020. The update is currently available for devices with serial number XT2061-3-SS and comes with the build number S1PB32.41-10-17.
The details about the update were first posted on Twitter on April 18 by a Motorola Edge+ owner.
Motorola Edge (2021) and Motorola Edge+ owners should receive the Android 12 update in the next few days. Users can look forward to experiencing a host of new features including a brand-new Material You design, wallpaper-based theming system, revamped notification, and Privacy Dashboard, with the latest version of Android. Furthermore, Motorola will also introduce some new camera features and new “Ready For” experiences with the latest My UX update.
