Nothing recently forayed into the smartphone segment with the Nothing Phone (1). It has only been a few weeks since the Nothing Phone (1) was launched and now the company has reportedly already started working on a new smartphone. A report by The Mobile Indian suggests that Nothing is working on a lite version of the Nothing Phone (1).
The report suggests that the Nothing Phone (1) Lite will lack the Glyph interface and will feature a plain glass back panel. Let us take a closer look at the rumoured Nothing Lite Phone (1).
Folks at The Mobile Indian claim that the lite version of the Nothing Phone (1) will sport similar hardware as that of the Nothing Phone (1). This means the upcoming Nothing smartphone might come equipped with a 120Hz AMOLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor. Also, Nothing might use the same set of cameras as that on the Phone (1) for the Nothing Lite Phone (1).
However, Nothing’s upcoming smartphone will not be exactly the same as the Nothing Phone (1). One of the biggest differences compared to the Phone (1) would be the absence of the Glyph interface and the LED lights. As per the report, Nothing will use a plain glass back for its upcoming phone. Additionally, the brand might be planning to ditch wireless charging in order to keep the cost low.
Talking about the cost, the upcoming Nothing smartphone is tipped to be priced around ₹25,000 for the 6GB + 128GB configuration in the Indian market. If true, the smartphone could pose a threat to the likes of Redmi and Realme. The device is said to come with a 42W fast charging adapter in the box. However, it might support 33W fast charging. The upcoming Nothing smartphone could be announced during India’s festive season as per the report.
