OnePlus 9RT Android 12 Update To Be Released In March Or April 2022

OnePlus had recently unveiled the OnePlus 9RT in India. The device comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and has a 120Hz Fluid AMOLED display. While almost all the specifications of the OnePlus 9RT’s Indian variant are similar to its Chinese counterpart, the brand decided to ship the Indian units of the phone with Android 11 out of the box. The Chinese variant of the phone shipped with Android 12 out of the box. OnePlus has now released a timeline for the OnePlus 9RT Android 12 update release.

OnePlus 9RT Android 12 Update (OxygenOS 12) India Release Date

As seen in the image below, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 9RT will get the Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 update in India in March or April 2022. That said, it’s still disappointing because several OnePlus devices (OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro) are already running Android 12.

If you are into the OnePlus ecosystem and are willing to buy the OnePlus 9RT, you would receive the stable OxygenOS 12 update with Android 12 within the next 2-3 months.

OnePlus 9RT Specifications

The OnePlus 9RT comes in two configurations in India: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage (₹42,999) and 12GB RAM and 256GB storage (₹46,999). The device went on sale for the first time in India on January 17, 2022, via OnePlus.in and Amazon India.

OnePlus 9RT specifications include a 6.62-inch Fluid AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, up to 1,300 nits peak brightness, and DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. It uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, which is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS3.1 storage. It runs Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 out of the box.

The phone has a triple rear camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 16MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro lens. At the front, the device has a 16MP selfie camera. The OnePlus 9RT measures 162.2×74.6×8.29mm and weighs 198.5g. It is powered by a 4,500mAh battery and support 65W fast charging over its USB Type-C port.
