OnePlus Nord Android 12 Closed Beta Testing To Begin Soon

OnePlus has announced the OnePlus Nord Android 12 Closed Beta testing program in India. The brand took to the OnePlus Community to make a formal announcement for the same. To those unaware, the OnePlus Nord made its debut back in July 2020 and came pre-loaded with Android 10-based OxygenOS 10. The company updated the handset to OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 last year, and now, the company is moving a step forward in bringing the Android 12 update to the device.

To those unaware, the Closed Beta testing phase is the first step towards a stable release. Once the Close Beta builds are tested thoroughly, the company will move to the Open Beta program. OnePlus says that it is adapting to a new strategy which is quite different compared to old long-term CBT programs. Instead of a long-term CBT, the brand is looking to run a short-term CBT this time around.

OnePlus plans to recruit 150 users from India for the OnePlus Nord OxygenOS 12 CBT program. Selected users will need to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with the company as the CBT group requires absolute secrecy.

OnePlus Nord Android 12 (OxygenOS 12) Closed Beta Update: Requirements

• Must own a OnePlus Nord India variant.
• Must be an active OnePlus Community member
• Must report bugs/issues and provide suggestions to the OnePlus team
• Willing to take a risk since CBT versions will likely have some bugs that can even affect the system stability at times.

OnePlus plans to reward those who excel in the CBT program with gifts. The company also advises users to take a back up of their personal data regularly, in case they are selected for the Closed Beta program.

We can expect OnePlus to kick off its Nord OxygenOS 12 Closed Beta Testing sometime this month or next month. We hope that the company will release the OxygenOS 12 Open Beta build for the OnePlus Nord in this quarter.
