The Panasonic Toughbook S1 is MIL-STD-810H-certified and it has an IPX5 and IP67 rating for water resistance. It has a 7-inch IPS LCD display with WXGA resolution (1,200 x 800 pixels). The company claims that the screen is easily viewable outdoors and it can be used with gloves or an additional passive pen. The Panasonic Toughbook S1 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor (with Adreno 512 GPU), 4GB RAM, and 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage.

It features a 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.
