Qualcomm Could Announce The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC At Snapdragon Summit Later This Year

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will launch a month earlier than expected. Qualcomm always announces their latest flagship smartphone SoC during their Snapdragon Summit, and the company released the dates for this year’s edition at the Snapdragon W5 and W5+ SoC launch. This year, the brand will host the Summit in Hawaii between November 15 and 17.

At the three-day Snapdragon Summit, the company will present its most recent technological advancements for mobile phones and other gadgets. We anticipate the company to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC at the occasion. This will be the company’s second flagship chip of the year. Later this year, Xiaomi will likely be one of the first smartphone manufacturers to release its flagship models using the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. According to reports, the company intends to introduce the Xiaomi 13 series in November.

After observing the performance improvements on the 8+ Gen 1, OEMs are now lining up to order Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors. Although the 8 Gen 2 is produced by TSMC using the same 4nm technology as that of the 8+ Gen 1, the former should exhibit a slight improvement over the latter in terms of performance and overall efficiency. Brands like iQOO, OnePlus, Realme, and Vivo are also anticipated to use the new SoC in their flagship smartphones. Samsung is already planning on producing an all-Snapdragon range for its S23 series.
