Following prior teases, Razer unveiled the Razer Edge 5G, the world’s first portable 5G console in collaboration with Verizon at RazerCon 2022. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform powers the console, while Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband serves as its network provider.

The Razer Edge Founders Edition bundle that also includes Razer Hammerhead True Wireless headphones costs $499.99 (₹41,500 approx.). The console is getting a limited release and is available for pre-order in the US. On the other hand, the Razer Edge 5G variant will be sold at the Razer booth at CES 2023, exclusively through Verizon starting in January 2023.

Razer has made no compromises in designing the world’s first 5G handled console. The Razer Edge gets a 6.8″ FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform. In terms of connectivity, the console offers near-zero latency gaming with Verizon 5G mmWave and Wi-Fi 6E, all thanks to the FastConnect 6900 modem.
The new Razer Kishi V2 Pro mobile controller, which is included with the console, has two additional features in addition to the customization possibilities, and functionality of the Kishi V2 mobile controller: Razer HyperSense advanced-haptic feedback and a 3.5mm audio connector. True console-quality controls on a portable gaming platform are made possible by microswitches in the face buttons and D-pad that provides tactical reaction and immediate actuation.
The Razer Edge 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. In addition to having launchers like Epic Games already installed, cloud streaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) and Nvidia GeForce Now, or remote play options that provide full access to PC libraries like Steam Link, Moonlight, Parsec, and Xbox, the console can play thousands of AAA games that are compatible with the device, including native Android games. On the device, there is 128GB of storage space that can be expanded to 2TB with a microSD card. This space can be used to store various games.
Other features on the Razer Edge handled console include a 5MP front-facing camera, an Android 12 operating system, 2-way speakers with 2 digital microphones, THX Spatial Audio, Bluetooth 5.2, and much more.
