Realme 9 5G With Dimensity 810, Triple Cameras, 90Hz LCD Launched In India: Specifications, Price

Realme has introduced the vanilla Realme 9 5G and the Realme 9 SE 5G in the Indian market today. These will join the previously launched Realme 9 Pro and the Realme 9 Pro+ in the lineup. The Realme 9 5G is identical to the Realme 8S smartphone, in terms of design and specifications. However, it misses out on a few features in comparison to the Realme 8S. The Realme 9 5G offers a Ripple Holographic design, triple cameras, MediaTek processor with 5G supports, high screen refresh rate, and a large battery, among other features. 

Realme 9 5G: Features, Specifications

The Realme 9 5G flaunts a Ripple Holographic design solution, which the company says is inspired by packaging techniques used by Coca Cola and Louis Vuitton. The handset is 8.5mm thick and weighs 188 grams. It sports a large 6.5-inch FHD LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display can achieve maximum brightness of 600 nits. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset, which comprises an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked at 950MHz. The fact that it is built on the 6nm fabrication process aids in energy efficiency.  

In the photography department, the Realme 9 5G packs in a triple camera setup consisting of a primary 48MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 6P lens, and 80-degree FOV. The other two cameras are a 2MP B&W portrait lens and a 2MP macro lens. For selfie aficionados, there’s a 16MP front shooter with an f/2.1 aperture.  

The smartphone supports 5G networks, which could be detrimental to its battery life. To address that, Realme has employed a Smart 5G Power Saving feature, which intelligently switches between 4G and 5G networks to lower the energy consumption by 30 percent. Other noteworthy features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Dynamic RAM Expansion Technology (DRE) of up to 5GB, USB Type-C port, dual-4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It packs in a 5000mAh battery and is coupled with 18-watt charging support. The handset runs on Realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11 OS out of the box. 

Realme 9 5G: Price, Availability

The Realme 9 5G has been launched at a price of ₹14,999 for the 4GB+64GB storage variant and ₹17,499 for the 6GB+128GB storage option. It comes in two colours, namely Stargaze White and Meteor Black. You can purchase it from March 14 onwards via Realme’s website and other online channels.
