Redmi appears to be working on introducing a new budget smartphone, dubbed the Redmi A1, in India soon. The smartphone was spotted on multiple certification websites, including FCC, BIS, TKDN, and Geekbench. In a recent development, the brand has shared a cryptic social media post that hints that the Redmi A1 might launch soon in the country. Let us take a look at the details.

As seen in the social media post above, the company has included the text “A1″in the tweet, hinting that the Redmi A1 might be released on the occasion of Diwali. However, the post doesn’t mention an exact date or other details related to the launch.

Based on past reports, the Redmi A1 was recently spotted on the TKDN certification website with the model number 220733SG. The listing revealed that the upcoming Redmi A1 will be a 4G device. The smartphone was also listed on the Geekbench database, which revealed that the upcoming Redmi smartphone will come powered by a quad-core MediaTek Helio processor, which will be paired with 3GB of RAM. In terms of software, the Redmi A1 is expected to boot Android 12 out of the box.

Furthermore, the device was also spotted on the FCC listing, which suggests that the smartphone will measure around 164.67mm in length and 76.56mm in width. In terms of connectivity, the Redmi A1 is said to offer Bluetooth support. Moreover, the BIS listing of the smartphone suggests that it may arrive in India as a rebadged version of a POCO device.
