At the Redmi Note 12 series launch event in China, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Projector and Projector Pro, with smart functionalities, 1080p resolution and a portable design. The Redmi Projector is available in black and white colours, while the Pro version is available in an all black finish.
The new Redmi projector is aimed at a younger demographic and has smart features like XiaoAI voice assistant and can be connected to more Xiaomi smart home products. In fact, the projector can automatically turn off the smart lights and curtains in your room when it’s started.
Redmi Projector, Projector Pro: Specifications And Features
Both variants have the same dimensions of 129.5 x 117 x 179.4mm and feature far field microphones and a brightness rating of 150 ANSI, allowing for use in a dark environment. The Pro version comes with omnidirectional automatic correction, automatic obstacle avoidance, screen alignment, and autofocus.
Both projectors can project a 40 x 100-inch screen at a distance between 1.07 and 2.67 meters. They have 1:2:1 transmittance ratio and 1080p resolution. The projectors also come with a cooling system with Redmi claiming a service life of 15,000 hours.
The projectors are powered by an Amlogic T950D4 quad core CPU, ensuring powerful performance. The visual smarts include an image adaptive algorithm, and perception module. The devices feature a dual speaker system built in, along with far-field microphones that are integrated with the perception module and anti-noise speech recognition system.
Redmi Projector, Projector Pro: Price And Availability
The Redmi Projector Series launched at discounted prices to attract the early adopters, but will soon be priced higher. At launch, the standard Redmi Projector is priced at RMB 999 (roughly ₹11,300) while the Redmi Projector Pro is priced at RMB 1,299 (roughly ₹14,800). To carry it around, you can pick a storage bag for RMB 199 (roughly ₹2,200).
