Xiaomi, the Chinese consumer products company, is rolling out a firmware update for its Redmi Smart TV X series and Mi QLED 55-inch smart televisions in India. If you have any of the Redmi Smart TV X of the 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch size variants or the Mi QLED 55-inch TV, your TV will be eligible for the update. The update will bring the latest security patch and a new ‘Works with Alexa’ app.
The Redmi Smart TV X range and Mi QLED 55-inch smart televisions by Xiaomi currently run with the PatchWall launcher on top of the Android OS. The TVs come with Google Assistant enabled by default. But, now after updating its firmware you will get the added option to control your Alexa-enabled devices via the ‘Works with Alexa’ app.

The tweet reveals the firmware build no. R21.10.29.3261 for the Redmi Smart TV X range and Mi QLED 55-inch TVs in India. The changelog appears to be the same for the aforementioned smart TVs. Sahu indicates that the roll-out will begin in a phased manner and may take some time to reach your television sets. The update is recommended as the security patch may protect it from vulnerabilities while connected to the internet.
How To Update Your Redmi Smart TV X Or Mi QLED TV:
- While on the homepage of your smart TV, click on the ‘more settings’.
- A new window will open.
- Here, select the ‘About’ option.
- Click on ‘System update’.
- Press on OK/Enter on the update button and your smart TV will be updated.
