Xiaomi has launched the new Redmi Writing Pad in India. Redmi’s latest device is not to be confused with the recently launched Redmi Pad, which is a full-blown tablet. The Writing Pad is a digital slate that can be used for scribbling, note-taking, and doodling. The device sports a large 8.5-inch LCD which mimics the appearance of ink on paper. It is accompanied by a pressure-sensitive stylus that can be used to doodle and write notes.

The Redmi Writing Pad comes bundled with a pressure-sensitive stylus. It is currently available at a discounted price of ₹599. The device arrives in a sole black colour variant and can be purchased from Mi.com.

The Redmi Writing Pad features an 8.5-inch Polymer LCD. The screen does not emit any light and mimics the appearance of ink on paper. The company claims that this prevents eye fatigue even after extended use.

Additionally, there’s a button at the bottom to clear the slate. It has a lock switch at the side that prevents content from being accidentally deleted.

The writing pad has a sleek design, measuring 21 x 14 x 0.5 cm. It is accompanied by a stylus for taking down notes and drawing. It weighs just 5 grams, while the slate weighs 90 grams.

The device is powered by a CR2016 replaceable button cell. The company claims that you can write up to 20,000 pages on a single charge.
