Reliance Jio announced its “True 5G” services in October in top metro cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and more. Now, this Diwali, Jio announced it has expanded 5G services in Chennai and Rajasthan’s Nathdwara, along with other high footfall areas including religious places, railway stations, bus stands, education institutions, and more across India. Other cities will see Jio’s True 5G rolling out in the coming months. Reliance industries chairman Mukesh Ambani said all major cities in India will have Jio True 5G by December 2022.
Reliance Jio is offering its True 5G services to users free of cost with unlimited data with the Jio Welcome Offer. Users in Chennai will now see invites going out for users to experience high speed internet. Additionally, Reliance Jio announced True-5G enabled Wi-Fi for users in Nathdwara in Rajasthan without a 5G device to get the full experience.

With this, we will power many more such locations and allow them to trial our services,” Reliance Jio chairman Akash Ambani said in a press statement. “In addition, we welcome Chennai as our latest city to be added to the Jio True5G Welcome Offer,” he added.
The Welcome Offer is currently on invite-only basis and can be availed from the Jio app. However, your smartphone should be able to connect to Jio’s 5G network, which is a standalone network.
In case your smartphone does support it, the Jio True 5G Welcome Offer gives access to unlimited 5G data at up to 1Gbps speeds. Reliance Jio 5G is presently available in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi, and now in Chennai.
