Samsung Launches Galaxy A52s 5G Smartphone in India with 120Hz AMOLED Screen, Snapdragon 778G Chip

The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G smartphone reached Indian shores. It is the latest 5G smartphone from the South Korean tech giant and it offers many premium features such as a 120Hz Super AMOLED display, 5G, a powerful processor, water resistance, stereo speakers, and a 64MP quad-camera setup at a competitive price tag. The phone competes with the likes of the Realme GT 5G and the Xiaomi Mi 11X.

The Galaxy A52s 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G chipset, which is quite more powerful compared to most other chipsets. It is based on the 6nm fabrication process and packs in the Adreno 642L GPU, which can be used to smoothly play graphics-intensive games. The phone comes in two versions: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The handset sports a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with Full HD+ resolution (2,400 x 1080 pixels). The Infinity-O term means that the screen has a punch-hole in the screen to accommodate a selfie camera. Like most flagship phones, the Galaxy A52s 5G comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and 800 nits of peak brightness.

To please the shutterbugs, Samsung has gone with a quad-camera setup with a 64MP main camera that is accompanied by a 12MP wide-angle lens, 5MP depth, and 5MP depth sensor. The main 64MP module is backed by OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) to compensate for shaky hands. Selfies are taken care of by a 32MP front camera. Both front and rear cameras can record 4K 30fps videos.

In terms of software, Samsung offers Android 11 with its One UI 3.1 on top. The company claims that the phone will receive updates for a least three years. The phone supports 12 5G bands to ensure you don’t miss out on the next-gen mobile network when it launches in India. Apart from that, it covers 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and GPS.

The device has a dual-speaker setup to add depth to sound. The handset is rated IP67, which means it is dust-tight and can withstand 1 metre submersion for up to 30 minutes. According to Samsung, the phone’s 4,500 mAh battery lasts up to two days. and it comes with 25W fast-charging support.

The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G price in India starts at ₹35,999 for the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs ₹37,499. The phone is available for purchase in India starting today. To sweeten the deal, Samsung is offering ₹3,000 cashback on HDFC Bank credit and debit cards.
