Samsung Galaxy M31 Android 12 (One UI 4.1) Update Released In India: New Features List

The Samsung Galaxy M31 was launched back in early 2020 and came with One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 out of the box. It received the One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 beta last month. Now, Samsung is seeding the stable version of the One UI 4.1 on top of Android 12 to its Galaxy M31 device. 

The Samsung Galaxy M31 is getting the updated firmware version M315FXXU2CVCE. This firmware will allow folks in India to experience the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 operating system on a two year old device. Expect Samsung to push the update in other regions in a couple of weeks. The firmware also packs in a March 2022 security patch that fixes more than 50 security vulnerabilities.

Samsung Galaxy M31 users in India can now download and install the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Always perform a data backup before attempting such major Android OS updates, as it can wipe your device. 

The Samsung Galaxy M31 is a two year device and ran on the Android 10 OS. It received its first major OS update, One UI 3.0 based on Android 11, in 2021. A year later, it is now getting the Android 12 update, which may be its last Android OS update. 

One UI 4.1 Based On Android 12 Highlights

The Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update brings Smart Widgets, a new and improved UI design, Color Palette feature, and camera enhancements, among others. There are more widgets available on the home screen and lock screen now. The AoD Mode and Dark Mode have got a few tweaks. It also offers an improved Quick Share function and charging animation. 

Samsung claims it has made improvements to its pre-loaded apps such as Bixby, Samsung Gallery, Samsung Internet, Samsung Keyboard, SmartThings etc. For instance, the Samsung Gallery app now comes with additional editing features such as Object Eraser, Reflection Eraser, and Shadow Eraser. 

Furthermore, the privacy and security features have been improved as it now comes with privacy indicators and quick toggles for camera and microphone. It will also notify you when an app attempts to access the information in the clipboard.
