We heard about the Samsung Galaxy M42 for the first time back in November when the device was certified through the 3C certification platform. Since then, the smartphone has been leaked a number of times. Today, however, we have official information regarding the mobile. Amazon India has created a dedicated page for the Galaxy M42 5G, revealing that the device will launch in the Indian market on 28th April at 12:00 PM.

The webpage has banners that reveal a few key specifications of the device. According to these banners, the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G, as the name suggests, will have 5G connectivity. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor. The phone has a few security-focused features such as Knox Security, Secure Folder, AltZ with Quick Switch, and Content Suggestion. The device is also equipped with Samsung Pay.

Going by the images of the smartphone on the dedicated webpage, it seems to have a display with a  U-shaped notch, and a quad-camera setup at the rear. The Galaxy M42 5G does not seem to have a fingerprint scanner either on its back panel or integrated into its power button, which suggests the fingerprint scanner could be embedded in the display. If that turns out to be true, the Galaxy M42 5G will have an AMOLED screen.

According to the 3C certification of the device, the Galaxy M42 5G has a 6,000mAh battery. Rumor has it that the phone will feature a 64MP primary camera at the rear and that it will be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM capacities.

Samsung Galaxy M42 5G price in India

Although Samsung is yet to reveal the price of the Galaxy M42 5G,  a report from IANS claims that the phone will be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 in the Indian market.

When launched, the Galaxy M42 5G will be the first M-series Samsung smartphone in India with 5G connectivity. Moreover, it will be the cheapest 5G smartphone from the brand in the Indian market.
