Samsung Galaxy S20 Series Gets Android 12 Stable Update

Samsung has started rolling out a stable Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy S20 series devices. The new software update is currently rolling out in Switzerland for the S20 lineup. The stable Android 12 update for the S20 series carries a firmware version G98xxXXSCEUL7, and the update is meant for the Exynos-powered global variants. The newly rolling out Android 12 update for the Galaxy S20 series brings in all the Android 12 features and the December 2021 security patch.

Android 12 Stable Update Released For Galaxy S20 Series

Though the official changelog of the new Android 12 update for the S20 series isn’t available yet, the new software update has most likely brought all the Android 12 update features which Samsung has baked in its custom One UI 4.0 skin. The Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update includes a new user interface, an updated widget picker menu, Material You-like colour theming system, new AR emoji stickers, improved Samsung Internet and Samsung Keyboard apps, updated stock apps, camera app design improvements, extra dim brightness settings, new visual charging effect, and better privacy and security.

The Android 12 update for the S20 series is live in Switzerland only. The OTA update should be available in other countries as well in the upcoming weeks. Prior to the stable Android 12 update release, Samsung had previously rolled out the Android 12 beta update for the S20 series back in November. The One UI 4.0 beta program based on Android 12 was made available for unlocked variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra in the UK and the US.

Apart from releasing the Android 12 update for the Galaxy S20 series today, Samsung has also released the stable Android 12 update for a couple of other devices such as the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip. We can expect the company to start rolling out stable Android 12 updates for more of its devices in the coming days.
