Samsung Announces Three New Monitors at CES 2022

Samsung has announced three new monitors—Odyssey Neo G8, Smart Monitor M8, and High-Resolution Monitor S8—ahead of the Consumer Electronic Show 2022. The Odyssey Neo G8 is a gaming-focused monitor that also happens to be the world’s first monitor with a 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. The company will showcase these monitors at CES 2022.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 Specifications, Features

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 comes with a 32-inch curved quantum Mini-LED display. It is a 4K resolution display with 3,840 x 2,160-pixel resolution and refreshes 240 times a second. It is a 12-bit display that offers a 10,00,000:1 contrast ratio. With Quantum Mini-LED technology, the display can achieve up to 2,000nits peak brightness and is equipped with Quantum HDR 2000 technology. The curvature of the display is 1000R which means the radius of curvature is 1000mm.

The gaming-focused Odyssey Neo G8 has a 1ms response time. The monitor offers a 2x HDMI 2.1 port and a Display Port 1.4. It is also equipped with CoreSync technology which recognizes the color of the screen and matches the backlighting and colours.

Samsung Smart Monitor M8 Specifications, Features

Alongside the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8, the Korean tech giant has also introduced the Samsung Smart Monitor M8. The Smart Monitor M8 comes in one size – 32 inches. The display panel features UHD resolution, 400nits brightness, and 99% sRGB color gamut.

The Samsung Smart Monitor M8 can also be used as a Smart Hub and can be used to control smart home gadgets. It also doubles as a Smart TV, so you can also watch OTT shows and movies on it. The Smart Monitor M8 comes with a detachable video camera that attaches to it magnetically. It comes with Google Duo app pre-installed, so you can make calls directly from the monitor.

The Samsung Smart Monitor has a thickness of 11.4mm and comes with a stand that lets users adjust the height. It has a USB Type-C port and supports 65W charging.

Samsung UHD Monitor S8

Besides the Odyssey Neo 8 and Smart Monitor M8, Samsung has also announced a new High-Resolution Monitor S8. It comes in two screen sizes: 32 inches and 27 inches. It comes with a 4K resolution display that offers up to 98% DCI-P3 color gamut. The 32-inch model also has VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification.

The Samsung High-Resolution Monitor S8 also happens to be the world’s first monitor to be certified as glare-free by UL (Underwriters Laboratories). It has a WLAN port and supports 90W charging over a USB Type-C port.
