Snapchat has released a new “Dual Camera” feature, which allows users to use both the front and back cameras simultaneously to capture a dual view of their moment. A similar feature is available to Instagram users on the Reels recording interface. The new Snapchat feature is currently being rolled out to iOS users and will soon be released for the Android platform. Let’s check out what the new Dual Camera feature offers.
Snapchat Dual Camera Feature: Here’s How It Works
When it comes to creativity, Snapchat has no dearth of options. The app comes pre-loaded with uncountable filters and other features that let users capture themselves in different avatars and aesthetic modes. Now, the app has added yet another feature for iOS users called the Dual Camera. The new feature allows users to record both the front camera and the rear camera views simultaneously.

The Dual Camera feature supports four setups—vertical, horizontal, picture in picture, and cutaway to allow you more flexibility with different shooting views and angles. Furthermore, you can use other creative features, such as music, stickers, and lenses to add to your snap or video. The company claims that the new feature is another creative way for users to capture their exciting moments, such as music festivals or everyday moments like cooking in the kitchen.
In order to use the Dual Camera feature on Snapchat, you will have to update the app to the latest version. You will see a new icon in the camera toolbar. Just single press to start recording Snaps and Stories with a double perspective.
