Snapchat is introducing a new update to Custom Stories called Shared Stories, which will allow your friends to add their friends to the group. On the other hand, Custom Stories only lets you add your friends to your Stories.
Snapchat notes that it has included safety features to Shared Stories, so that you don’t have to worry about it falling in the wrong hands or being misused. For instance, Snaps added to a Shared Story will get automatically deleted after 24 hours, just like regular Stories on the app. It doesn’t have a chat option, so you can be assured that the conversations will be limited to people who know each other.

Get the latest technology news, reviews, and opinions on tech products right into your inboxTo keep Shared Stories a safe and fun place to view memories, the app includes automatic language detection and community review tools. If you’re worried that someone you have blocked on the app may now be able to view your Stories via Shared Stories, Snapchat has you covered. You will be notified if you’ve joined a Shared Story with a blocked user. This gives you the option to leave the Shared Story.
You can check out the new feature by navigating to your profile page, then select new story and choose Shared Story. This will allow your friends to increase the number of participants.
Snapchat has been adding a host of features to the app over the past few months. It introduced the Live Location Sharing feature, which allows users to share their real-time locations with select friends. This differs from the integrated Snap Map feature, which can be viewed by the entire community on Snapchat. Live Location works between friends on an individual basis.
Just last month, Snapchat added a feature which allows you to seamlessly share YouTube videos across mobile devices directly via its camera. Previously, you would have to copy and paste the link, and then open the app to share the video.
