It will be a successor to the Sony Xperia 5 III, which was launched back in 2021 and is expected to bring some improvements over it. The event will start at 4 PM Japan time (12:30 PM IST) and will be streamed online via the Sony Xperia YouTube channel.
Sony Xperia 5 IV: Features (Rumoured)
Sony hasn’t revealed any information about the specifications of the new smartphone. However, the Sony Xperia 5 IV device was recently spotted on the FCC certification website, giving us a fair idea about its dimensions, display size, and connectivity options.
Going by the FCC listing, the Sony Xperia 5 IV is 155.74mm tall and 67.1mm wide. It is slightly shorter and less wider than its predecessor. The display size is also smaller at around 6.04 inches compared to the 6.1-inch screen size of the Sony Xperia 5 III. It will sport an OLED or AMOLED type of display with a high screen refresh rate.
The Sony Xperia 5 IV is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which debuted with the Asus ROG Phone 6 series. When it comes to the cameras, the device is expected to come equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX557 sensor, a 12MP Sony IMX663 telephoto shooter, and a 12MP Sony IMX363 ultrawide snapper, similar to its predecessor.
