Telegram is rolling out a host of new privacy and security features for its users. Furthermore, the popular messaging app now drops the requirement of a SIM for signing up on the platform. This means, users will now be able to use the app without a phone number. It will also allow them to access the chatting app on multiple devices. Besides, the app has also updated a couple of its security features to better user experience. Let us take a look at the details.

However, the platform will verify the user identity via Fragment. You can create an anonymous number to receive verification codes and register yourself on the app. Do note that the phone number will be exclusive to you, as a SIM card would be.

Additionally, the app has improved its security features to include a new auto-delete timer for certain chats. The option will help users delete all chats after a certain period of time. While the feature allows you to set a timer for your new chats, it also lets you add your old chats in the auto-delete timer.
Moreover, the app has also introduced a new “Topics.2.0” upgrade, which sorts group topics into multiple threads. It gives the large group chats the feel of a forum and a more organized look. This is not all, Group Settings on the app has been updated with a new “Aggressive Anti-Spam” filter. It will manage spam messages to protect users in group chats of over 200 members. Plus, admins will have an ability to report false positives.
