It’s finally here, rather THEY’re finally here! The much awaited Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ have finally arrived in India and they’re quite stunning. What instantly differentiates them from the other phones, is the massive display, which nobody can hate. Yes, it’s delicate but it’s packed with some cool specifications. Here’s everything you wanted to know about the all-new Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+…
1. Available In Two Versions: S8 and S8+
S8 comes with a 5.8in screen, while the S8+ has a 6.2in screen. So yes, they’re both a bit bigger than the Galaxy Note 7 in terms of display. After all, the bigger, the better! Both the Samsung variants have a pretty massive display and are superbly thin and stylish. In fact, the S8 (5.8in) is very close to the 5.5in iPhone 7 Plus display. But if you enjoy clicking pictures on your phone, S8+ is something you’ll really love. The only thing that’s different between the two variants is that the S8+ comes with a bigger battery as compared to S8. Oh, and of course the difference in price.

They have a stunningly massive screen that covers majority of the front area, hence Samsung had to move the fingerprint scanner to the back of the device. It also curves around the right and left, which makes it look very classy. If you like Apple phones and are looking for a change, you might just want to try using the Samsung Galaxy 8 or 8+.
3. They Have a Fingerprint Sensor On The Back
Sounds weird, right? It did sound weird to us too but since the screen is so huge, Samsung had no option but to place the fingerprint sensor on the back, next to the camera. It might feel awkward using it for the first few days but you’ll eventually get used to it. So whether you like it or not, there’s no denying the fact that Samsung will always be remembered as the first brand to drop the physical home button and place it at the back.
4. They Have a New Software Feature called Bixby
Think of a digital assistant and the first name that comes to our mind is, Apple’s Siri. Similarly, Samsung now has Bixby. Yes, the S8 and S8+ come with a built-in digital assistant to instantly answer all your questions. Samsung has also given it a dedicated hardware button. So Bixby can be called by double tapping the button. It can identify images shot through the camera and search for them on the internet. Not to forget, it can also set reminders for you. That’s quite impressive.
5. They’re Built on a 10nm Chip
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ offers a new 10nm processor and software optimizations, apart from its stunning looks. This is why it comes closer to matching the iPhones performance. Of course, nothing’s going to change our love for Apple but the new Galaxy 8 is worth a try.
6. They Have a Great Battery Life
The S8 has a 3,000mAh battery, while the S8+ has a larger 3,500mAh battery. That’s good enough and can keep your phone running all day. But if you’re a heavy user, you may want to
buy the S8+ for a better battery life. Not just this, the phones also have a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD.
7. They’re Great For Selfies
As far as the camera is concerned, they come with a 12MP dual pixel rear camera with f/1.7 lens, and an 8MP f/1.7 sensor on the front. This makes it a great selfie phone. Samsung has added its multi-frame image processing technology to the smartphone, which will capture three shots every time a photo is taken and optimise them to produce the best image.
8. They Can Give You a Desktop Experience
Imagine a concept of a smartphone-as-desktop. Samsung has made that happen in the Galaxy S8/S8+ by introducing a new feature called DeX. It lets you connect your Galaxy S8/S8+ to a monitor, keyboard and mouse for a desktop experience powered by your phone. If you’re a workaholic, with the new Galaxy S8/S8+ you can turn any place into a workplace. All you need to do is just plug your phone into the DeX Station to use apps, review documents and set or check notifications on a desktop interface.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ support wireless charging as well as fast charging. Galaxy S8 is priced at Rs 57,900, while the S8+ is priced at Rs 64,900. They can be pre-booked online or at the Samsung stores and they’ll be available from May 5 onwards.
