Twitter Spaces introduced the option to record conversations to select users back in October 2021. The feature was later widely rolled out to all hosts early this year. Now, the app will allow all users to extract short audio clips from Twitter Spaces and share them with others. This function is being rolled out to Android as well as iOS apps.

Now, anyone in the Twitter Space can make a clip which can be conveniently shared with others. As is customary with the feature, the clips are set to expire after 30 days. Do note that this new feature is only available to app users, and hasn’t arrived for Twitter web users yet. The microblogging service reassures that support for web is coming soon.
When Twitter was testing the clipping feature in March, it was limited to select hosts on iOS. We can expect Twitter Spaces to gain in popularity as participants will also be allowed to extract clips and share them on the platform. Considering the limited attention span of users, clips will be a great tool to grab more eyeballs and attract more people to the platform. Moreover, viewers will be able to view the highlights without having to watch the entire video.
Twitter is working on a wide host of features. The company is planning on introducing long form content with Twitter Notes. It is also testing a CoTweet feature which will allow users to “co-author” tweets.
