Vivo plans to launch their flagship X80 series smartphones in global markets, following its introduction in China. According to the brand, the X80 and X80 Pro would be available in India by the end of May 2022. The phone is expected to be released in India with the same MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor as the China edition. The new Sony IMX866 sensor, Full HD+ curved AMOLED displays, 80W rapid charging, brilliant colour selections, and more will be highlights of the X80.

It will replace a flat AMOLED panel with a big 6.78-inch Full HD+ E5 curved AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz. The brand is not skimping on the display experience of this smartphone, and we can anticipate a brilliant panel with a peak brightness of more than 1200 nits.
The smartphone will be powered by the brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G SoC. This could be the country’s first smartphone with this CPU. The device will also include up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. In terms of optics, the Vivo X80 will include a full set of Zeiss-branded cameras. On the back, there will be a triple camera configuration, with the main 50MP Sony IMX866 sensor custom-made by Sony for Vivo. The phone will also include a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 12MP 2x Telephoto lens.
For selfie enthusiasts, the smartphone will include a 32MP front-facing sensor capable of recording 4K videos this time. Other features of the handset include Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, and QZSS. It will include a 4,500mAh battery with the capability for 80-watt wired fast charging. In terms of software, the Vivo X80’s global model will run Android 12 out of the box, with the company’s FunTouch OS 12 on top.

In China, the Vivo X80 is priced at 3,699 yuan (around ₹42,900) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs 3,999 yuan (around ₹46,300). Moreover, the top-end 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs 4,399 yuan (around ₹50,900). Expect the Vivo X80 to start at around the ₹50,000 mark in India.
