Xiaomi has a knack for adding too many devices with the same series, which leads to some confusion. For instance, its Redmi brand has over 15 devices under the Redmi Note 11 series. Even its flagship Xiaomi 12 series currently has around eight devices and is set to get two more devices soon, namely the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro. However, these smartphones are likely to mark the end of the Xiaomi 12 series as the company is said to be working on introducing an all-new series for its future products. This would help its customers to differentiate between devices better.
According to a MySmartPrice report, the new Xiaomi test mules were spotted with model numbers 2210132G and 2210133G on the EEC certification website. These two devices are speculated to be included under the Xiaomi 13 umbrella. In another EEC listing, two devices with model numbers 22101316G and 22101316UG were spotted, which could be the same devices branded as Redmi smartphones for the global audience.
As per reports, Xiaomi will be introducing its new Xiaomi 13 series in the fourth quarter of 2022. A previous report by tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the Xiaomi 13 series of smartphones will be unveiled in China towards the end of this year and will go on sale in the global markets early next year.
Xiaomi 13 Series: Specifications (Rumoured)
Qualcomm is said to host its annual summit in November 2022. That’s when it might announce its next generation of flagship chipset, possibly a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which would succeed the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. If it holds true, the Xiaomi 13 series could be one of the first devices to be powered by the new processor.
As per rumour mills, the Xiaomi 13 series will sport AMOLED displays with 2K display resolution and 120Hz screen refresh rate. The handsets will be powered by a single-cell battery as opposed to the dual-cell battery packs used by most manufacturers. Xiaomi is likely to include its self-developed Surge P1 chip, which is claimed to be the only 100W fast charging solution for single-cell batteries. In terms of optics, the devices will get cameras with Leica branding. That’s not all, the Xiaomi 13 series will flaunt ceramic back panels made by Chinese automotive manufacturer BYD.
