Xiaomi just announced the 12S series of smartphones with the Leica alliance, and now the Xiaomi 13 series is the subject of numerous rumours and leaks. The most recent one originates from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, who asserts that the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones will have a ceramic back made by BYD. The tipster adds that as this is only a prototype, it is still unclear whether the final device will include a ceramic rear panel.

Similar issues occurred with the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which was set to have a ceramic body but was abruptly dropped by the company. This is not the first time that a Xiaomi flagship phone would feature a ceramic back. The company previously used this material on the Xiaomi 11 Ultra and the Mi Mix series.
The Xiaomi 13 series is anticipated to go on sale later in November. According to reports, an SM8550 processor—possibly the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2—will be used to power it. Standard and Pro variants with the respective codenames Nuwa and Fuxi are anticipated to be included in the range. Model 2211133C is assigned to the former.
It is still quite early to get a full grasp of the specifications and design of the Xiaomi 13 series and we will be hearing more about this device in the coming months.
