The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 now has a new rival just a day after its debut, at least in China. Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, in its home country today. The Mix Fold 2 replaces the original Mi Mix Fold, which was launched back in 2021 and brings several improvements in design and specifications. The device packs in an OLED LTPO2 panel, 2.5K resolution, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, Leica tuned cameras, and fast charging, among other features.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 2: Features, Specifications
While the original Mi Mix Fold came with a rounded and bulky design, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 gets a flat design and is a lot slimmer in comparison. It measures just 5.4mm unfolded and 11.2mm when folded, which makes it thinner than its chief rival, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. The Mix Fold 2 has also shed weight, as it now weighs around 262 grams compared to 317-332 grams of the Mi Mix Fold. It measures 161.1 x 144.7 x 5.4 mm (unfolded) and 161.1 x 73.9 x 11.2 mm (folded).
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 gets a tablet-like 8.02-inch OLED 2.5K LTPO2 main display with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. The secondary screen is also a large 6.56-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer display is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus. Both the displays can reach a peak brightness of 1300 nits. The smartphone can shoot up to 8K videos and also supports Dolby Vision HDR format recording.
