[Exclusive] POCO M5 Indian Unit Box Price, Key Specifications Leaked Ahead Of Launch

POCO is gearing up to launch its new M-series devices, the POCO M5 and POCO M5s, globally on September 5, 2022. It will also be introducing these new smartphones in the Indian market on the same day. The POCO M5 will be a mid-range 4G smartphone and thanks to our industry sources, we have exclusive information on its specifications and pricing.

POCO M5: Features, Specifications (Leaked)

The POCO M5 comes with a signature POCO design and vibrant colours. The smartphone is expected to come with a polycarbonate build but will get a leather texture back panel to enhance its appeal. Additionally, it gets a huge glossy black camera island that houses the triple rear cameras and LED flash. There’s a big “Poco” logo on the camera island, in case you forget about the brand.

According to our source, the POCO M5 will sport an LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz screen refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which is built on the 6nm fabrication process. This chipset will also be seen in the Redmi 11 Prime 4G, which is set to launch on the next day, September 6, 2022. The handset will be equipped with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. It will come with a Turbo RAM feature to expand the RAM further at the expense of internal storage.

In the camera department, the POCO M5 will come with a triple rear camera setup which includes a 50MP primary camera. However, the source didn’t reveal the specifications of the ancillary sensors. We can expect them to be paltry 2MP sensors. The selfie camera is housed in the waterdrop notch on the display.

Some noteworthy features on the POCO M5 include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP52 splash resistance, and an IR blaster, among others. The handset will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery under the hood coupled with 18W fast charging support. It will run on the Android 12 operating system out of the box.

POCO M5: Price (Leaked)

The leaked box price of the POCO M5 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant in India is ₹18,999. However, expect the actual price to be slightly lower than the MRP on the retail package. Additionally, the base variant is expected to carry a much lower price tag.
