We all know how frustrating it is to see your mobile phone’s battery drain too fast, especially when you need it the most. There’s no denying the fact that a phone’s battery life is one of the most common problems people face with their smartphones.
Here are 5 simple ways to extend your phone’s battery life.
1. Avoid Charging Your Phone Overnight

Avoid charging it all night and keep your smartphone charged between 60% and 80%.
Once in three months you can let the battery drain out completely and then charge it 100%. This helps maintain the charge capacity.
2. Turn Down The Brightness
Your phone’s screen consumes maximum power, so avoid setting your screen to auto-brightness. It’s a better idea to dim the screen’s brightness or manually change it whenever necessary.
Try it and you’ll be surprised to see how much this helps in improving the battery life.
3. Avoid Vibration Mode
It’s fine to put your phone on vibration mode for incoming calls but not for messages and other notifications, as it quickly drains the battery.
Vibration consumes even more power than ringtones. To switch off the vibration mode, go to Settings > Sound and select the ‘Vibrate for calls’ option.
4. Switch Off Bluetooth And GPS When Not In Use
Keeping your Bluetooth and GPS on for long can also quickly drain your phone’s battery.
You can save power by turning them off when not in use. Yes, Wi-Fi consumes a battery too but it also uses less power than 3G / 4G. So we wouldn’t recommend turning off your Wi-Fi.
5. Get Rid Of Unwanted Apps
Apps that run in the background drain battery too. Declutter your phone’s home screen and delete those dozen apps that you hardly use.
On Android, all you need to do is go to Settings > Apps. Select the apps you want to disable, and tap Uninstall. On iOS, tap and hold an app, tap the X in the top left corner. Your phone will not only work faster but also consume less battery.
To extend the life of your smartphone, we’d also recommend buying the Onsitego Extended Warranty plan. Phone damage is common with most people, especially after the manufacturer’s warranty. Even the smallest repair can cost you beyond the cost of repair once the manufacturer’s warranty expires.
So it’s wise to back up your phone with an extended warranty plan. The plan covers all the defects and malfunctions covered in a standard manufacturer’s warranty.
