iQOO, a Vivo subsidiary, has finally introduced its iQOO 9T gaming-centric smartphone in the Indian market. It will sell alongside the previously launched iQOO 9 Pro smartphone and offers an improved processor and a new design similar to the iQOO 10 series. The iQOO 9T prioritises performance but also gets a good set of cameras, an AMOLED display, and entertainment features, which makes it a good all-rounder device in this category. Meanwhile, the 12GB/256GB variant is priced at ₹54,999. The device is currently on sale via iQOO’s official website. ICICI bank credit card holders can avail a flat discount of ₹4,000 on both variants. If ordered via the iQOO website till August 10, 2022, you will also get an iQOO Game Pad worth ₹3,500 absolutely free with the device.
The iQOO 9T will also go on sale via Amazon on August 4, 2022. You can get an additional exchange bonus of ₹5,000 for non-iQOO devices or ₹7,000 for old iQOO smartphones.
iQOO 9T: Features, Specifications
The iQOO 9T boasts of a premium metal and glass sandwich design. It comes in two finishes in India. The “Alpha” colour option comes with an understated look with a matte black AG glass back and a glossy top portion. The sportier “Legend” option gets a signature BMW Motorsport design with a carbon-fibre top portion. The bezels around the display are very slim and uniform all around.
The smartphone flaunts a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED by Samsung with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and supports HDR 10+. The display gets Schott Xensation Alpha glass protection at the front. There’s a centrally placed punch hole camera cutout on the top of the screen.
The iQOO 9T is filled to the brim with gaming features. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which recently made its debut in the Asus ROG Phone 6 series of gaming smartphones. iQOO claims this chipset can deliver up to 30 percent performance boost over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset of the iQOO 9 Pro. For sustained performance, iQOO has employed it with 3930mm2 vapour chamber cooling and a high-density graphite sheet.
Furthermore, it features dual X-Axis linear vibration motors placed on the top and the bottom of the device to offer enhanced haptic feedback while gaming. It packs in Vivo’s V1+ chip, which bumps up the colours and adds frames to the games to make them visually smoother. That’s not all, it comes with dual stereo speakers for an enhanced audio experience.
Talking about its photography aspect, the iQOO 9T comes with a triple camera setup at the rear comprising a 50MP Samsung GN5 Ultra-Sensing sensor with OIS. It is accompanied by a 13MP ultrawide shooter and a 12MP Tele/Macro snapper, which comes with 20x digital zoom capabilities. Apart from gaming, the Vivo V1+ chip also helps in improving the camera quality. It is touted to deliver improved night-life photography and videography. Selfie and video calling duties are handled by the 16MP front-facing camera.
Other noteworthy features of the handset include an in-display fingerprint reader, dual nano SIM card slots, nine 5G bands support, enhanced LPDDR5 RAM, enhanced UFS 3.1 storage, WI-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, IR blaster, and USB Type-C port, among others. The smartphone is fueled by a 4,700mAh battery pack coupled with 120W FlashCharge fast charging system. iQOO claims that it can charge the device up to 50 percent in eight minutes and 100 percent in just 20 minutes. The handset runs on FunTouch OS 12 based on Android 12.
